Ein neues Gesicht bei uns am Gym!
Wieder einmal, genauer zum dritten Mal, hat COMENIUS, das europäische Bildungsprogramm für Schulen und Lehrkräfte, unsere Schule ausgesucht, um einer angehenden Lehrkraft einen Einblick in das tägliche Unterrichtsleben zu ermöglichen.
Diesmal war es die Nationalagentur aus Helsinki, die uns auf Grund bereits bestehender zahlreicher Kontakte mit finnischen Schule RIIKKA MIKKOLA geschickt hat.
Wie sie selbst beschreibt, wird sie das Sommersemester an unserer Schule verbringen und ihr Bestes tun, sich in jeglichen Unterricht „einzumischen“. Vom einfachen Zuhören angefangen bis zum selbständigen Unterrichten wird Riikka überall eingesetzt werden. Da sie das (zumindest im Augenblick noch) nur auf Englisch tun kann, ist das eine gute Gelegenheit für unsere SchülerInnen, sich im täglichen Gebrauch dieser Sprache zu üben.
Als Betreuungslehrerin liegt mir außerdem viel daran, Riikka mit unserer Kultur, den Schönheiten unserer Landschaft und vor allem mit unserem Schulsystem bekannt zu machen. Schließlich kommt sie aus dem Land, das europaweit bekannt ist für die guten Leistungen, die an seinen Schulen erreicht werden.
Jetzt soll aber Riikka selbst zu Wort kommen:
I am a Finnish university student who was lucky enough to be accepted into the Comenius programme, funded by the European Union. That means I will spend the spring term 2011 at Laa an der Thaya as an assistant teacher. During my five months here, I will assist teachers in various subjects, the main focus being on the language lessons. Furthermore, I hope to improve my German during my stay, as well as to learn more about the Austrian way of life.
In Finland I study English and Swedish at the University of Oulu and will graduate this year as a language teacher. At the moment, I write my Master?s thesis on e-learning and I am especially interested in the opportunities new technologies give to foreign language teaching.
Oulu, my home town, is situated in the Northern Finland by the Gulf of Bothnia. In the winters the days are short and there is plenty of snow, but the summers are warm and the nights are bright.
I am looking forward to experiencing the spring in Laa an der Thaya and getting to know you all at the Gymnasium!
